Appeal for help

Dear sports, swimming and swimming club friends of Crvena zvezda

The Crvena zvezda swimming club is launching a humanitarian action to raise funds for new financial resources, among swimming clubs, members of the CD Crvena zvezda, and all other people of good will. The former Star swimmer Ognyen Kapata (15) on 17.08.2022 woke up with a diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia of very high risk (C91.0). Ognyen is currently undergoing chemotherapy and waiting for a call from Belgrade, where he is going for a bone marrow transplant. His parents are unable to buy all the funds for treatment and, together with them, we, Ognyen’s swimming friends, ask all good people to help so that Ognyen can go to treatment as soon as possible.

A little about Ognyen,

Ognyen came to the swimming club as a seven-year-old, thin, with a recognizable smile around his head. His own and modest. From the first training, he showed a great desire to learn, a great willingness to work, and above all, a great love for swimming. With each workout, Ognyen progressed, he worked hard, and that was reflected in his results. He was always among the best in the club, but also in the country. He worked on himself, and that work paid off. He became a member of the national team and represented our country at the European and World Championships. Ognyen is a fighter in and out of the pool, always with a smile on his face, always ready to help, and always ready to learn. We are all sure that he will fight this disease as well, with all his might, with the help of doctors and the support of all of us. Please, let’s help Ognyen in this fight.
